Local church partnership has been a cornerstone of Feed The Hungry since it's beginning in 1987. For over 25 years FTH has been a pastor-to-pastor, church-to-church missions outreach where God's people in places of plenty have become an answer to the prayer of His people in places of need.
This strategy has been tried and tested in over 90 nations and has proven to be effective, efficient, and reliable. Aid and relief supplies bypass government bureaucracy and are put directly into the hands of local church leaders who intimately know the needs of their communities' best.
Feed The Hungry has focused on bringing help to those in need both physically and spiritually. Because we work exclusively through local churches and ministries, each distribution provides an opportunity to touch the spirit and soul of those in need through prayer, encouragement, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Wherever and whenever possible we also distribute Bibles to those receiving aid. The blessing of food to a hungry soul is temporary, but the Bread of Life can change someone for eternity.
By partnering with Feed The Hungry your local church, mission group, or small group can become God's agent to answer the cry of those who pray, "Give us this day our daily bread."
Here are some ways your church or group can help change lives around the world:
* Introduce LeSEA Global Feed the Hungry to your congregation or missions, business, or small group. We can provide you with brochures, information on current projects, video content, or possibly schedule a visit with a Feed the Hungry representative. We can provide Feed the Hungry offering envelopes that could be used for your church's Mission Sunday with proceeds sponsoring specific Feed The Hungry projects.
* Initiate a Prayer Covenant program. Many churches encourage their members to pray and fast two meals a week (not days) and contribute the value of those meals to "share their bread with the hungry" according to Isaiah 58:6-11. Enlist your congregation to "fast a meal and feed a family".
* Participate in LeSEA Global Feed the Hungry projects such as rice challenges, food drives, or corporate sponsorship. Gift-in-Kind programs can tangibly involve your congregation, mission group, or small group in feeding the poor. Members of your church, youth group, or men's or ladies' groups can experience the life-changing adventure of a short-term mission trip to one of our project locations.
