If you met Carlos—one of Feed The Hungry’s Christian partners in Honduras—you’d see pretty quickly he is ready to follow God’s call anywhere. His heart’s desire is to find and bring help to remote villages . . . places where hunger is deep and no one else is bringing aid.

Recently, he traveled to the very end of a long road. Then he heard the Holy Spirit say, “Keep going.” So Carlos journeyed three more hours through rugged terrain. He finally came across a village, and his heart broke.

The poverty was unimaginable. There was no school, no church. The children were dangerously hungry. Every minute was focused on surviving; there was no energy left to build a brighter future. But hope is finally growing in this place—because of you.

You delivered hope in the wilderness.

This remote community is now part of Feed The Hungry’s work in Honduras . . . efforts that are making the “impossible” come to life in village after village. In one very isolated settlement:

· A FEEDING CENTER IS BRINGING NEW LIFE: A handful of close ministry friends gave to meet this special building need. Since there are no “one-stop shop” home-improvement stores, the task was monumental . . . but worth every back-breaking hour.

Lumber was harvested from forests near the village. It was painstakingly cut, dried, hauled across challenging terrain, and pieced together to make a sturdy building that serves not only as a feeding center, but also as a school and community center.

· CHILDREN ARE HEALTHY AND HOPEFUL: Thanks to your generous giving, this new building is full of children who were desperately hungry before . . . but now they’re eating well every day, growing strong, and building a brighter future!

· A NEW SCHOOL IS OPENING: This is the first time these children have had a proper school—complete with desks, chalkboards, books, and more. Because you’re giving them meals and they no longer have to spend all day scavenging, approximately 120 children finally have the chance to learn and work toward a better tomorrow.

Some walk 30 minutes to seize the opportunity. Since God’s Word is part of the curriculum, they’re also hearing about Jesus. People are already opening their hearts to Him!

Feeding centers, new schools, and smiling children are concrete testimonies to your generosity in Honduras. And there are other impacts too.

Local dads helped haul the lumber and piece together the building. They were able to do something tangible to help their children build a better future. That was a huge encouragement to them.

Local moms brought coffee and anything else they could spare to help. One commented about what a blessing it was to look forward to more than barely surviving: “We’re not just thinking about today now.”

A Feed The Hungry leader in Honduras explained the immense impact:

“God is just flooding the mountain with his love. The atmosphere is changing . . . There’s been less sickness, fewer deaths, and the children and others that receive food are noticeably healthier, cleaner, stronger, and happier.”

Much has been done, but many more children and families are waiting. In Honduras, many survive by scavenging in dumps . . . digging through sharp debris, dirty needles, and rotten food just to get a few bites here and there. It’s dangerous. And it leaves multitudes struggling with malnutrition.

These are men, women, and children made in God’s image. He would not have us leave them to dig through trash to survive.

That’s why Feed The Hungry is dedicated to reaching the neediest . . . to taking food and Gospel hope everywhere from trash heaps to isolated villages where there are no roads.
