Ukraine Report: Oksana survived on raw potatoes. She cried over the food you gave her.

You know Ukraine has seen unfathomable devastation. Fields are bare. Pantries are empty. People are living in dark basements with barely enough food to survive.

Until you reached out, a grandmother named Oksana* was one of them.

Our Feed The Hungry team recently met Oksana as they delivered food provided by friends like you. Terrified by the intense fighting nearby, she had been living underground for two weeks, eating only raw potatoes.

She cried when she saw the food you sent for her. And she is just one of multitudes who are grateful for your help as Ukraine faces its darkest hours.

Your Support Now Makes All the Difference.

The war has been going on for more than four years. After so much fighting:

  • 1 in 5 children has lost someone close—usually their father.

  • Supply chains have collapsed.

  • Farms are destroyed.

  • The number of widows and orphans is soaring.

  • Multitudes are dangerously hungry.

Much of the world has “moved on”—so it’s especially important that followers of Jesus keep helping. That’s why, with your help, our church partners are determined to get food and other help to the most vulnerable.

Going “above and beyond” to reach the suffering.

Thanks to your help, more than 10 million pounds of food have been delivered since the war began. And still, despite the danger, faithful Christian partners continue to make 12-hour drives to reach isolated and elderly shut-ins. The disabled. Widows and children.

They don’t just drop boxes of food at the curb. They pick up these heavy packs and heft them up stairwells to reach grandparents, mothers, and little ones—sometimes nine flights!

Then they stay to talk. Listen. Pray and share the love of Jesus. They tell these men and women that people like you, from all the way across the world, are praying for their well-being and giving to provide them with the essentials they need to survive these dark hours.

To someone who feels forgotten, that makes all the difference. Struggling recipients of the aid and care report:

“Your help is the only thing that keeps me alive and gives me hope. I have nothing else; I thank God for you.”

“My legs are barely moving. I cannot go outside to buy food. So you bringing the supplies here is a great help.”

As one local Feed The Hungry leader said, “The help strengthens their souls, their spirits. It helps them go on.”

What more can be done for these war victims?

Feed The Hungry partners in Ukraine know that, as the war stretches on, the situation doesn’t get better . . . it only gets worse.

That’s why Ukrainian church congregations are sometimes fasting two meals—to direct food to those who need it even more.

Will you stand with them to rush more help to the suffering?

Just $9 provides a huge box of food packed with flour, oil, canned meats, beans, and more—ENOUGH FOOD FOR A MONTH! Wherever possible, our teams help with specific, personal needs too . . . providing everything from adult diapers to lifesaving medication.

These gifts bring life. Dignity. Hope. And they are delivered with prayer and the Gospel.

We already have Christian partners on the ground who know how to navigate all the challenges to deliver aid to those who need it most. They even use phone apps to track incoming missiles . . . so they can stay one step ahead and continue to bring lifesaving help to those near the fighting!

But to meet the great needs, especially among children and the elderly, more food is urgently needed.

Please, stand with those enduring a brutal war. Give as much food as you can today.
