As deadly drought hits Turkana, You’re saving lives!

Thanks to your help, Feed The Hungry partners recently delivered food to desperate people in Turkana, Kenya.

Now the heat, dead crops, and long-term drought have woven together to create a full-blown crisis. But your support is saving lives.

Rushing help to the suffering.

Turkana is enduring a three-year killer drought that has wiped out crops and livestock. In a devastating development, many men have departed for literally greener pastures. They left the elderly, women, and little ones behind—unfed and unprotected. They’re truly “the least of these.”

No food can grow without water, so the hunger is extreme . . . so bad that the digestive tracts of children have been affected. Some can no longer eat solid food; they can only digest a porridge mix. Many have stick-thin arms and bloated bellies. They go to bed hungry every night.

Summer brought Death Valley temperatures north of 110°. And because this area is so isolated and many groups have cut aid, there’s less help than ever. In the words of our local team:

“The conditions are extreme . . . this year is a survival year."

The situation is grave—but God is making a way where there seemed to be no way.

Thanks to the support of friends like you, Feed The Hungry has been delivering food in this region for years. In fact, gifts from friends like you already feed 3,500 children in Turkana each day.

As the crisis deepens, those connections and experiences are invaluable. Our partners know how best to reach the most needy people, especially in isolated places where no one else is helping.

And with your help, they are able to bring not only food during this emergency but also Gospel hope.

Bringing hope now and for eternity!

Feed The Hungry church partners in this area have a saying:

“Empty bellies cannot hear the Gospel.”

When someone is literally starving, getting food to survive is their sole focus. But when you bring food to hungry people in Jesus’ name, you touch their hearts and minds, too. Their response is remarkable. Our partners explain:

“They really see God. They just believe that God has remembered them.”

After one recent meals distribution, our partners reported more than 100 people coming to church, with people “praising God in full abandonment.”

When people feel Jesus’ care, they are drawn to Him. Individuals, families, and entire villages are changed. And it all starts with a meal.

The effect of every meal multiplies.

The meals you give are like ripples in a pond. Right away, they strengthen bodies.

But they also allow children to go to school and have the energy to concentrate and build a better future.

And they show the Father’s love and prepare hearts for His message—leading to churches that are now overflowing with people worshiping and learning about Jesus!

Through the meals you give, God is making a way in the wilderness.

But so many more little ones in Turkana and beyond need food to survive extraordinary challenges. Many of their fathers have left . . . but their Father God has not. He’s put trusted churches and missionaries in place to reach them. What’s needed now are more meals!

Every $1 you give will feed 5 little ones today. You’ll help them get through this crisis season, strengthen their bodies, and give hope to their souls.

Please, give “the least of these” a lifeline. Feed their hungry bodies. Help them know Jesus.
