Isaac was orphaned, starving, and fleeing war. You helped rescue him!

Still just a teenager, Isaac has overcome challenges most full-grown adults could not imagine.

Like 2 million others, he fled horrific war and atrocities in South Sudan. It was terrifying. As violence raged, panicked men, women, and children escaped into the bush without food or supplies.

Adding to the heartbreak, Isaac’s mom died. He became an orphan.

Then the long journey started. Many traveled hundreds of miles on foot—trying to reach Uganda, hoping for safety and food. You can imagine the hunger. Some ate grass in desperation.

When Isaac finally arrived, a new wave of despair hit. Because Uganda has 1.9 million refugees and not enough food to go around. Isaac was “safe” but still starving, going without food for days at a time: “There are times when I felt like dying."

Just as Isaac was slipping away, your care saved his life

Isaac was losing hope and strength. But thanks to you, he found new life.

Because of your generosity, Isaac was able to receive meals at school, served by Christians alongside prayer and Gospel hope, right there in his refugee settlement.

Now Isaac’s body is strong. He’s getting an education. He’s hearing about Jesus! He loves math and wants to be a doctor. And he has a message for you:

“I’m so happy you are giving me food. Thank you so much. And God bless you.”

Isaac no longer has to fear death from starvation . . . and he’s building a bright future. And his is just one of MANY lives your compassion is touching.

Aduk faced tragedy, too. But you gave her HOPE

18-year-old Aduk’s story is a lot like Isaac’s. She is originally from South Sudan, but war forced her family to flee. She lost her home.

As they attempted to escape, rebels shot her father. She lost her dad.

When she was just 17, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. She lost her mom.

Aduk is now responsible for 5 younger siblings—waking up at 4 o’clock each morning to clean and try to find and prepare something for her brothers and sisters to eat.

It’s hard . . . but the meals you give offer her a lifeline.

Thanks to friends like you, Aduk receives a meal at school every day. That gift gives her energy to keep going, to keep studying, to keep walking through hard things every single day.

Her heart for her siblings is so tender that she tucks away some of the meal she gets . . . bringing it home at the end of the day so they can have a bit more nourishment: “I cut one side and keep it, then I take it home to my younger sisters.”

Instead of making her bitter, all her losses and hurts have given Aduk a special love for others. She too dreams of becoming a doctor . . . to help her siblings and allow them to live the life her parents never got to. You are fueling those dreams, and she’s so grateful.

What’s next for the “least of these”

In Uganda alone, you help feed 70,000 children like Isaac and Aduk each day. Most of these children fled bloody wars as refugees. Now, thanks to you, they are stronger, building a better future, and learning about Jesus!

But because the conflicts in nearby Sudan and South Sudan are intensifying, more and more children are fleeing the violence. The system in refugee settlements is breaking. There’s not enough food to go around, and frantic children are eating grass and fighting over scraps to survive.

Will you step in to be a lifeline to them too?

Hundreds of new refugees are arriving each day, weak and barely hanging on. Local church and missionary partners are eager to help, often through schools that provide an education too. All that’s needed are the meals!

Every dollar you give will feed 5 children for a day. Please, give food to the hungry. Open doors to hope, learning, and faith in Jesus.
