"The suffering I've seen here has no equal. . ." You saved Athabo’s life

“The suffering I’ve seen here has no equal . . .” You saved Athabo’s life

The “before and after” of Athabo’s life is amazing to behold. She went from starving to building a bright future. You made the difference.

Athabo lives in a place called Turkana. Most couldn’t find it on the map. It sounds like it should be in the Middle East, but it’s actually in Kenya. It’s a place of deep suffering, hunger, and turmoil. One UN expert commented, “The suffering I’ve seen here has no equal.”

Despite the depth of the crisis, most men and women have never heard about this situation. But God saw. He moved people like you to help. And now, children like Athabo are living a new life.

You stepped in at a critical moment

Multiple years of drought have sucked the life out of Turkana . . . killing crops and weakening livestock.

Violence has broken out as raiders attempt to steal cattle.

Hunger and malnutrition continue to soar, affecting about 2 million people.

And still, there’s no rain, no food.

You can imagine how these people are suffering—especially the children. They’re hungry all the time. Watching fields wither into nothingness. Seeing the ribs on every animal. Fearing every stranger approaching their homes. Growing weak.

Athabo and her family experienced this hurt. They lost everything to the drought and cattle rustlers. They were left with nothing but hope that someone might see and decide to help. They joined others living in makeshift huts at the edge of town . . . still struggling.

But then they heard about a school offering daily meals that friends like you helped provide. Everything changed.

You gave Athabo hope for new life

Instead of spending her days desperately hunting for food in withered fields, Athabo started attending school. She is getting nutritious meals, served every day by Christian partners, right alongside her education.

Athabo now eats because of you.
Her health is improving.
She’s learning.
Her family is hopeful.
She went from going to bed hungry every night to actually being full . . . in body and in spirit.

This miracle is being repeated in life after life, thanks to your giving. Because when you help rush food into a hungry village, something beautiful begins: schools are built, churches are planted, and hope takes root. People hear about the God who loves them and provides for them, and entire communities are transformed.

Those are the blessings you’re giving to 3,500 children in Turkana right now.

But so many more are waiting.

What’s next for Athabo and her homeland?

Because of your care, Athabo will keep eating each day, studying, and building a brighter future. But many more are in need.

Other humanitarian groups have made major cuts to their aid. Fewer are bringing food.

We can’t turn our backs now.

Feed The Hungry is expanding efforts to deliver even more food to this area. The meals will be served by missionary and Christian partners just like those helping Athabo. They don’t just hand a child a bowl and forget about them. These faithful men and women pray with and for these little ones. They help them know God’s love.

It costs just 20 cents to deliver a meal like this, right alongside Gospel hope. As other groups cut aid, we are praying you’ll stand in the gap.

Every $1 you give will feed five people. Every meal will be delivered through local churches and schools—trusted partners who share food and Gospel hope. Every spoonful will tell a child, “You are seen. You are loved. God has sent His followers to help you!”

So many children are still hungry. Please, nourish their bodies and souls today.
